ZUPA, the Pūka god of the dawn, may not be a morning person, but he sure knows how to make an entrance.

Desperate for his beauty sleep, yet tasked with heralding dawn, mornings, awakening and new beginnings, Zupa embraces his domains with all the enthusiasm of a snooze button caught mid-snore.

As a flamboyant cockelope with the strut of a rooster and grace of an antelope, he’s earnestly worshiped by the Dawnborn elves. Their fervent prayers and elaborate rituals plead for Zupa to awaken from slumber and pay heed to their shattered Republic.

Once his sister’s relentless antics lift the fog of sleep, Zupa’s initial crabbiness gives way to a cocksure confidence. It isn’t long before he’s swaggering through the day like he’s on an eternal runway. No stranger to boasting, he considers himself the reigning cock of the cosmos, though his siblings remain unconvinced.

In battle, his legendary crankiness transforms into a formidable wrath as he spits the very light of dawn, blinding foes with its brilliance. And if the light isn’t enough, his notorious morning breath is sure to wither even the most formidable adversary. 

Zupa’s love of coffee, and his creation of caffeine, is a testament to his cautious embrace of morning routines. He considers every sip an act of worship and nod to his ingenious contribution to the cosmos.
