In the heart of the haunted Forest of Gethorn, amidst whispering leaves and dappled sunlight, dwell the mischievous yet gentle GLADEBORN.

These diminutive beings, with their verdant skin and faun-like feet, embody the fertile spirit of the woodland realm. In their harmonious society, there are no rulers; just unspoken bonds of kinship and plenty of good-natured revelry.

High above the forest floor is Gullyveil, a bustling treetop metropolis of platforms and walkways. Here, amidst rustling leaves and swaying branches, they’ve created homes that defy gravity and common sense.

Life in Gullyveil is a vibrant tapestry of song, dance, and storytelling. With households bursting at the seams, often upwards of a dozen children, it’s clear the Gladeborn know how to keep busy and warm, perhaps owing to their rumored fondness of hogpeanut.

Upon reaching the tender age of 1,300, many Gladeborn children leave the safety of Gullyveil to explore what life is like outside their forest haven. Most return after a year, many sooner, finding no pleasures that match the comforts of home. However, some are enticed by the allure of the wider world and “alternative lifestyles.”

By night, the Gladeborn gather beneath moonlit boughs to share tales and laughter, their voices mingling with the woodland symphony. Many of them possess the rare “aetheric gift,” a touch of magic that brings dancing lights and ghostly melodies to life. While the gift is feared elsewhere, here it only adds to the enchanting rumors that keep the faint-hearted away.

Though they prefer their secluded haven, the Gladeborn occasionally extend their hospitality to Magonian traders. Visitors quickly learn to navigate polite (if persistent) overtures for the unparalleled craftsmanship of Gladeborn furniture and their renowned natural “toys.” It’s a small price to pay for world-renowned design that brings both elegance and excitement.

In Gullyveil, every leaf whispers secrets and every breeze carries a tale. The Gladeborn remind us that life’s simple joys, the warmth of kinship, and a bit of well-played mischief, both day and definitely night, can make the world a wonderfully magical place.
