In the whimsical world of Spookaluca, more than 100 incredibly charming characters are starving to death. Not for food, but for attention, love and a fabulous glow-up.

For a one-time $99 (standard) or $149 (premium) donation, you can rescue a character who’s been sadly left in the drafts folder, dreaming of fame, notoriety and a fully-illustrated body to call their own.

Become their savior by helping the incredible artist Francesco Sala transform these neglected not-so-human beings from drab headshots to fab figured individuals.

Q: Why should I adopt a character?
A: Because you likely owe me $5, and the time has come to collect… either that, or you believe in the Spookaluca trilogy, and want to be the first to help make it a reality. 

Q: What, exactly, am I donating toward?
A: I really struggle with drawing bodies. Most of my characters live as simple concept graphics of disembodied heads I created while writing the story. Your donation will help fund your adopted character’s design, which includes a fully-colorized hero pose, another pose in black ink, a few facial expressions and general production expenses. We will use this concept art as reference material when composing the final Spookaluca trilogy artwork.

Q: Do I get to choose my adopted character?
A: Yes. You’ll select between three unique characters, all with speaking parts and/or important roles to play in the trilogy. There are lots of personalities, mythical creatures and gods. My goal is to match you with one you’ll fall in love with.

Q: Can I request a custom character?
A: Not at this time. The Golden Guardian Club adoption program is for existing characters in need of additional character design, illustrated bodies, poses and glow-ups. 

Q: Can I adopt multiple characters? 
A: Yes! Please do. You can even adopt one for your friends or family members as a birthday, holiday or even  a weird anniversary gift!

Q: Can I adopt anonymously?
A: If you wish! But, it makes it a little trixy to acknowledge your support in the final print and digital production. 

Q: How does adoption process work?
A: It’s simple. Fill out the form below, read and agree to the terms. Within two weeks, you’ll receive a link to complete your donation to begin your Golden Guardian Club lifetime membership. I’ll personally follow up with you when we’re ready to begin design work on your character.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my membership card and adoption paperwork?
A: My goal is to email you membership and adoption materials within two weeks of your character selection. Of course, this could vary, depending on how many people join the Golden Guardian Club at the same time. Please be patient with me!

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my final drawing?
A: Francesco Sala and I typically work on three characters at a time. Our back and forth process usually takes about a month from start to finish – sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. Since there are more than 100 characters to design, your character’s glow up will be scheduled in queue behind others.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?
A: Nope.

Q: If Spookaluca takes off, and my adopted character becomes a star, will you share the profits with me? 
A: Nope. Your donation is meant to be an expression of your support for my creative process. Spookaluca is a trademark of QuirkWerk, LLC. (my business), and its characters are protected under copyright. Think of it this way, if Spookaluca is successful, you’ll have the bragging rights of being a member of the exclusive Golden Guardian Club, and have the adoption certificate to prove your support!
